Blue hole in the South China sea is officially recognized as the deepest in the world.
Almost vertical blue hole Yongle Sansha located in the Paracel Islands. Information about its depth has been checked and confirmed by the National marine environmental forecasting centre of China (NMEFC).
According to experts, the Yongle deep Sansha — 300,89 meters, diameter of its upper part is 130 meters, and at the base is about 36 meters. At the top of the hole can meet at least 20 species of marine life. For comparison, the depth of the Great blue hole in Belize — 124 meters (with a diameter of 300 meters) and the depth of Dean's blue hole in the Bahamas island, long island — 202 meters. The latter, incidentally, has long been considered the most profound education of this kind.
